So I found this 30 days Instagram challenge: 30 days, a different topic every day. Sounds interesting, I thought. And then there's my best friend, Laura. I am the reason that she is mainly found looking through the viewfinder of her camera these days, says her boy-friend. I have infected her with G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), complains my partner. One red wine too many later I contacted her: Let's do this. Alright she said, after having finished the semester. I nearly forgot about the whole thing until she contacted me, saying, let's start. Who would want to make such an effort anyway, in addition to all my daily Blipfoto photography, work, dog walkies, and all that? I'm glad I did :)
Here are my pictures!
The challenge:
30 days, 30 pictures.
One topic per day.
Meeting up in Lisbon at the end of the project.
Pictures were taken with my Fuji X-T20, Canon G7x Mark II or my Honor 10 lite mobile phone.
It was a terrible day to find some interesting sky!
A cappuccino and nothing else in the morning is what get's me going.
Snailing in the rain.
That raincoat proves useful this year so far!
I didn't expect so many stars to be out that night.
Dogs and mountains make me smile. On top of the Fürhörnli above Chur.
Well, at some point in the past this was high-tech.
A happy place for Djeili on a hot day.
Djeili wasn't too enthusiastic about having her picture taken together with my dear old friend Lassie.
Born German, but feeling a bit Scottish and Swiss, too.
Walking Djeili in front of the office.
The wall of a wooden bridge. And ode to my Portuguese colleagues ;)
Where Heidi meets Little Red Riding Hood.
The poshest toilet in town.
The lighthouse above Bad Ragaz - in the meanwhile it was moved to be at an actual lake.
A walk in the woods.
Elements meeting the nature of mountains.
There was no war or atomic bomb at hand, so I resorted to this.
Djeili sporting one of my favourite colours (and also my company's colour branding).
Ouddorp, the Netherlands, at sunset.
A holiday bed, so not really my bed.
My beach me. Later I went swimming in the sea :)
Anything goes at Amsterdam airport.
The meadows and vineyards around Maienfeld are wonderful at this time of year.
The exit that isn't an exit. At the graveyard in Maienfeld.
"Say yes to life, say yes to wine, then you'll always be happy."
The dog in the moon boots. The moon picture part of this is from the
fantastic book "Sternenbilder" by Nicholas Roemmelt, highly recommended!
First day of meeting in Portugal with Laura - too much wine that night!
At the naval museum in Lisbon. Tich is being framed.
Under Glass - in Sintra, Portugal.
At the end of the project, both Laura and I concluded: It was good fun!
I also learned a lot. Usually I do look out for photos, take them, and then for Blipfoto I try to give them a title. For these 30 days though, I had a title already, and needed to find a picture to fit the title. I had to stretch my creativity sometimes!
I loved exchanging pictures in the evening, joined by a chat about our days. And we are really good friends, so we there was no bitching around when the other one had the better or most clever picture and "won" the day.
